The Republican

There is a rumor going around in the Presidential Race for the White House in 2008. It seems some believe that the Democrats have put money into the coffers of Dr. Ron Paul, who some believe is a libertarian in little elephant clothing. That sound far out to me when I began to consider the implications, as Ron Paul, when he loses the Republican Nomination, may turn around and run as an Independent, and remove Republican Votes, enough to swing the Election.

Well, these rumors now make a lot of sense, even fit nicely with Occam's Razor, nevertheless, one has to ask about such rumors racing around the Internet during the election process, what can we trust? If Democrats are funneling money to support Ron Paul, then, well, it would be politics as usual and he is a noteworthy controversial candidate, with a Constitutional and Libertarian Flair. Does Dr. Ron Paul have a chance in the election? Most believe not and he is in last place in Iowa.

When will Ron Paul call it quits, perhaps he never will, he might just keep going even if he is so far behind he cannot possibly make the team. Will Ron Paul run as an Independent after losing the primary? When asked this during the Florida Debates and he said "definitely not" and claimed to be a contender because he had lots of money available to him due to campaign contributions flowing like Niagara Falls.

So the question is will that baby elephant suit grow or is Ron Paul ready to unzip out of that costume and emerge the Independent Candidate ready to take on both parties and rob votes from the Republicans for revenge?
