Many Republicans are quite concerned right now with Rudy Guiliani's faltering survey numbers. This is because many Republicans believe that he is the most likely candidate to beat Hilary Clinton in a general election. On the Internet many Blogs are commenting on this issue and one asks the dubious and very real question:
"Can Rudy stop his slide?"
There are many people on the Internet now taking a stand and the discussion is filled with controversy. One commenter stated:
No, I don't believe he can, because people do not like NY Style Politics in the Midwest. They are sending him a message, thus if the republicans nominate him, he will get slaughtered in the General Election. Besides Obama has further to slide and Hilary will win that. Then in the general election, republicans do not have anyone who can beat her, Huckabee, will get torched on the coasts in a general election and his stance on women sends votes to Hilary.Others seemed to feel the same way and so the question remains Can Rudy Stop His Slide? Personally, I am not picking sides, this is politically neutral question and debate, so let us just analyze the situation for a moment. Rudy's politics are a little bit hard hitting and attacking, yes that is what it takes to win in political elections right? The question is are Republicans buying into that as he attacks other front runner candidates?
Rudy Guiliani has a bit of a colorful past, this might come back to haunt him in the General Election. His stance on abortion is unique amongst the other candidates, which might prevent him from winning the nomination, but greatly help him in a general election. This is something to definitely contemplate in 2008.
