There are a lot of debate issues during this Presidential Election, and many candidates have scraped the surface of the War on Drugs. Still, this issue is huge for our children and youth and it affects our society, safety, crime rates and success as a nation. The illegal drug issues in the United States are destroying the fabric of our nation and hurting families, still it goes on.
How would you change the Illegal Drug laws in our nation? Do you do illegal drugs? Illegal Drugs are a huge problem in our country, they destroy the workforce, productivity and pit people against their own families and society, it would be nice if folks did not do them. There is significant risk for our health care system, if we end up with a Universal Health Care system.
One might fear the challenges of young meth users needing heart valves at 33 years old, even if they stopped at 28 years of age? Socialism and medicine factors will play into the drug wars, what are your thoughts on that? Recently this issues was discussed at the Online Think Tank and a candidate member stated:
My brother in law was in jail for meth use and a slew of other things, yes drugs do tear families apart I agree. No, I don't use the illegal drugs, occasionally, I have the old tried and true home wrecking alcohol, which in my opinion is one of the worst life wrecking things given my family history so I am a hypocrite, but what does the government get to tax us on alcohol and cigarettes, while big industry lines the pockets to make sure nothing changes. Why is alcohol legal? If cigarettes are so bad for people wouldn't we want to eliminate those as well, as a way of reducing the cost of health care and creating healthy people?
Indeed, alcohol is a problem for humans, it is poison, won't touch the stuff, except on rare occasion when it is not proper to decline. Cigarette and Alcohol use must be addressed if we are to have universal health care, along with the nation's illegal drug problem, it is a travesty that we have not solved these issues already, maybe the issue is just too darn controversial for the Presidential Candidates? Something Serious to Contemplate in 2008.
